DEPARTMENT JOB TITLE SALARY

Downtown Revitalization PART TIME

Maintenance Worker $9.71/hourly

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Performs semi-skilled landscaping work in the maintenance of the City of Raeford downtown streetscape area. This position is part time with no benefits and is budgeted for no more than 10 hours per week.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

Any combination of education and experience in landscaping.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

a) Some knowledge of equipment, methods & procedures used in landscaping maintenance and use of same.

b) Skill in the operation of work-related tools and equipment (to include, but not limited to: motorized mowers, push mowers, weed eaters, common hand and power tools, shovels, wrenches, mobile radio, and phone).

c) Ability to: perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods of time; lift up to 50 pounds; and work safely.

d) Ability to: communicate effectively verbally and in writing; understand and carry out written and oral instructions; establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments and the public.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be 18 years or older at time of employment.

Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment physical, drug screening test and criminal background check.

Closing Date: position will remain open until filled.

PART TIME: no more than 10 hours per week.
