ARTICLE II. CITY CEMETERY
Section 6-16. Size and price of lots and spaces.
(a) The size of lots in the city cemetery shall be twenty (20) feet by twenty (20) feet, and shall contain ten (10 ) grave spaces.
(b) The price for grave spaces in the city cemetery shall be as follows:
City resident, pre-need . . . . $250.00/space
City resident, at-need . . . . . $275.00/space
Non-resident, pre-need . . . . $325.00/space
Non-resident, at-need . . . . . $350.00/space
Locate Fees (grave site) . . . $25.00
Locate Fees (monument placement) $25.00
“At need” shall be defined as a purchase made within one week of actual use of the grave space.
(c) The city shall retain the right to select the location of any singe grave space which may be purchased
Section 6-17. Opening and closing graves; charges.
THE CITY WILL ONLY OPEN AND CLOSE GRAVES FOR SPECIAL/UNUSUAL CIRCUMSTANCES. A charge of three hundred twenty-five dollars ($325.00) shall be made for opening an adult’s grave on a weekday, and a charge of four hundred dollars ($400.00) shall be made for opening an adult’s grave on a weekend or holiday. INFANT: A charge of one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00) for City-resident and two hundred dollars ($200.00) for Non-Resident shall be made for opening an infant’s grave. “Infant” is defined as any person under one year of age. CREMATION: A charge of one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00) for City-Resident and two hundred dollars ($200.00) for Non-Resident shall be made for opening for a cremation.
No grave will be opened until satisfactory arrangements as to the purchase of the space(s) and payment of grave opening charges have been made with the city.
Section 6-18. Lots and spaces not to be resold to any
person except the city.
It shall be unlawful for any person to sell any lot or grave space in the city cemetery to any person other than the city. The city shall pay the seller the price the seller paid for the lot or grave space, less proportionate deduction for any portion of a lot that has been used (mo. of 4-3-67).
