Optional class role-playing exercise shut down by board

Editorial points to "dangers of ignorance, silence and prejudices"

In an editorial entitled "History Repeating," the UNC Daily Tar Heel called for the Hoke County school board to permit the role-playing exercise that it recently cancelled at East Hoke Middle School.

The editorial argues that, "besides giving the middle school class a very real idea of what occurred during the Holocaust, the role-playing illustrates to students why the Holocaust was so terrible."
