Next Meeting of Hoke County Commissioners scheduled for May 19, 2008 A previous meeting of the Hoke County Commissioners addressed the issue of fees associated with environmental testing and permits. 	County Manager Mike Wood finds cuts Working with commissioners, Mike Wood found the cuts needed to reduce the county budget to $30.2 million and avoid a tax increase in Hoke County. Currently, the tax rate is 70 cents per $100 value on property. Earlier this year, the commissioners asked Wood to recommend ways to cut $2 million from the budget.
