Thompson to run for Superior Court JudgeGregory Thompson, a well-respected Raeford attorney, has announced his intention to run for Superior Court Judge in judicial district 16A. Thompson, a native of Raeford, is married to Georgia Thompson, who is a native of Liberia in West Africa. They have three sons, Gregory, Geoffrey, and Gabriel. In addition to his active schedule as an attorney and a father, the talented Thompson has served for the past 10 years as pastor of Judah International Ministries in Maxton. UNCG gets $1 million from 1943 graduateThe wife of the late Louisiana Senator Russell Long has made a gift of $1 million to UNCG. Carolyn Bason Long, a 1943 graduate of UNCG, married Senator Long in 1968. She was a senate staff person when she met Long. Russell Long, who held his senate seat for nearly 40 years, was the son of Louisiana Governor and Senator, Huey P. Long. |

Many businesses in larger cities now offer "free wifi" as a way to draw more customers. For example, the Biggs Park Mall in Lumberton announced this week that free wireless internet access is now available at their food court.
