Hoke Boys Basketball Struggles in Opening Loss

E.E. Smith record now 2-1 with 78-45 win over Hoke

Turnovers and missed shots doom the Fighting Bucks

by Tom McKinney

The Hoke Fighting Bucks dropped their first game of the season to E.E. Smith, 78-45, in Fayetteville on Tuesday evening. The Golden Bulls of E.E. Smith had already played two games and improved their season record to 2-1 with their lopsided victory over Hoke.

Hoke certainly looked like a team playing its first game of the season as mistakes and turnovers put them behind in the opening quarter of play. The Fighting Bucks will be working on reducing turnovers and improving their shooting percentage as they prepare for their second game of the season, again versus E.E. Smith, on Monday, November 26th, in Raeford.

Antoine McGregor and Jamel Cunningham were the leading scorers for Hoke, scoring 10 and 9 points, respectively.
