E phi E Step Team wins state competition
Team will compete next in national championship
from our "Schools & Education" Desk
For the fourth consecutive year, the E phi E Step Team at East Hoke Middle School has won the North Carolina state championship.
The team is lead by Quatesha Dixon, Captain, and Britney Sutton, Co-Captain, both in the 8th grade.
Other 8th graders include Jasmine Copeland, Antoinette Grace, Shanice Hopkins, James McCormick, Ryeskia McNeill, Dacia Smith, and En'Daca Tillman.
The team members in the 7th grade are Shannon Lide and Damon McCormick.
The 6th grade team members are Zhana Balaam, Donnicia Braithwaite, Tae'Neequa Dixon, Hunter Evans, Jordan Martin, Kelvona McClean, Shakedria Shakir, and Erika Smith.
Mrs. Brenda M. Willis, Team Coordinator, reports that all of the team members, along with Mr. Robert Evans, Step Master, and Mr. Wade Chavis, Conditioning Coach, have worked long hours to prepare for the competition.
The team is currently preparing for the national championship competition that will be held in Fayetteville on May 26th.
