West Robeson wins high-scoring battle of unbeaten teams

West Robeson's six runs in the 5th inning proved to be more than Lumberton could surmount in an exciting youth baseball matchup on Monday night in Eden, NC.

West Robeson got off to a quick start by scoring two runs in the top of the first inning. However, Lumberton came charging back with eight runs to gain an 8-2 lead after three full innings.

The back-and-forth struggle continued as West Robeson tied the score with six runs in the 4th inning, only to see stubborn Lumberton score another run in the bottom of the 4th to take the lead at 9-8.

The top of the 5th inning proved to be decisive as West Robeson scored six runs in dramatic fashion to gain a lead, 14-9, that would hold for the remainder of the game.
