Oxford's shortstop Ty Adcock spearheaded a dramatic triple play in the 6th inning to shut down Whiteville's come-from-behind effort and give Oxford a 5-3 win in the first round of tournament play in Eden, NC.

Whiteville had runners at second and third base with no outs when Ty Adcock caught a line drive ball, quickly tagged the runner off of second base, and then fired to the third baseman to put out the other startled runner and complete the relatively rare triple play.

Several parents laughed after the game that, just before the pitch, the coaches seemed to be trying unsuccessfully to get the talented shortstop's attention to reposition him away from where the spot on the field where he ended up stabbing the line drive and initiating the triple play.
